As the apostle Paul preaches in 1 Corinthians 15:12-19, life after death is a doctrine that is absolutely central to the Christian faith..... 

But if it is preached that Christ has been raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith. More than that, we are then found to be false witnesses about God, for we have testified about God that he raised Christ from the dead. But he did not raise him if in fact the dead are not raised. For if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised either. And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins. Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ are lost. If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are to be pitied more than all men.

In fact, down in verse 32, the apostle Paul is even more blunt: If the dead are not raised, "Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die."

But there is life after death.

You cannot believe the Scriptures without believing that there is life after death.  Just consider the following examples.....

Matthew 25:46.....

"Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life."

John 3:16.....

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

John 3:36.....

Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on him."

John 5:24.....

"I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life.

John 6:40.....

For my Father's will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day."

John 11:25.....

Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies"

Romans 5:21.....

so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 6:23.....

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

2 Thessalonians 1:6-10.....

God is just: He will pay back trouble to those who trouble you and give relief to you who are troubled, and to us as well. This will happen when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven in blazing fire with his powerful angels. He will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the majesty of his power on the day he comes to be glorified in his holy people and to be marveled at among all those who have believed. This includes you, because you believed our testimony to you.

Titus 1:2.....

a faith and knowledge resting on the hope of eternal life, which God, who does not lie, promised before the beginning of time

Titus 3:7.....

so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.

1 John 5:11-13.....

And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.

Revelation 20:15.....

If anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

So hopefully you can clearly see that the belief in eternal life is absolutely fundamental to the Christian faith.

But does life after death actually exist?

Well, on this website we have put together one of the most comprehensive collections of life after death stories that you will find anywhere on the Internet.  Some of the stories are near death experiences.  Other stories are from people who claim that they were given a vision of heaven or a vision of hell while they were still alive. 

Is every story true?  That is for you to decide.  But what is so remarkable is that so many different people from all over the globe have had such similar experiences. 

Are they all lying?  Are they all imagining the exact same things? 

The truth is that these stories represent something very, very real.

"I was passing over into a different sphere. My soul was disconnecting from my body with a hum that kept growing louder, rising to a whine as the vibration of death pulled me deeper.

I noticed that there was a large screen before me. I was being drawn into a three-dimensional slide show of my life that played out before my eyes chronologically, while I experienced every part of it from all points of view and all points of understanding. I knew exactly how each person felt who had ever interacted with me.

In particular, however, I was being shown in vivid detail exactly what my childhood was really like. The pictures flew past me, but I easily absorbed every moment, each one triggering an entire memory or a chunk of my life. So this was what people meant when they said, "My life flashed before my eyes."

The closer I came to the end of my life, the faster the pictures flew past me. It was incredible!  In an instant I had experienced the entirety of the twenty-seven years from my birth until the moment that I found myself dying on the couch and passing into the warm tunnel. Then the fast motion of my life rushing past and through me stopped abruptly.

Now what?

Where was I? I was immersed in darkness. My eyes seemed to adjust, and I could see clearly even though there was no light. The darkness continued in all directions and seemed to have no end, but it wasn't just blackness, it was an endless void, an absence of light. It was completely enveloping.

I swung my head around to explore the thick blackness and saw, to my right, standing shoulder to shoulder, a handful of others. They were all teenagers.

"Oh, we must be the suicides." 

With a laugh, I opened my mouth, but before I could form the words, they came tumbling out. I wasn't sure whether I had thought the words or had attempted to say them, but they were audible without my having to move my lips. Then I wasn't sure if these other people had heard me, until the guy next to me responded.

He didn't say a word to me. He slowly looked down at me and turned forward again. There was absolutely no expression on his face, no warmth or intelligence in his eyes. Suspended in darkness, he and all the others stood fixed in a thoughtless stupor.

Second over from the other end of the line was a girl who looked to be in her late teens. I was coming to see that feeling - what some call intuition or the sixth sense - was the preferred method of transferring information here, where unvoiced ideas grew audible. As I exercised my new power of  sensing/feeling, I had an inkling that I was remembering a long-forgotten, natural, familiar skill that had been supplanted or subverted by words, and I quickly grew proficient at this new way of gaining knowledge.

But she did not connect with me. Her empty gaze, fixed on nothing, continued uninterrupted by my thoughts about her. She was just like the rest of them, staring blankly forward, with no concern or curiosity about where we were. They were dead, and so was I.

Suddenly, as if we had been waiting for a kind of sorting process to take place, I was sucked further into the darkness by an unseen and undefined power, leaving the teenagers behind. I landed on the edge of a shadowy realm, suspended in the darkness, extending to the limits of my sight.

I knew that I was in a state of hell, but this was not the typical fire and brimstone hell that I had learned about as a young child. The word purgatory rose, whispered, into my mind.

Men and women of all ages, but no children, were standing or squatting or wandering about on the realm. Some were mumbling to themselves. The darkness emanated from deep within and radiated from them in an aura I could feel. They were completely self-absorbed, every one of them too caught up in his or her own misery to engage in any mental or emotional exchange. They had the ability to connect with one another, but they were incapacitated by the darkness.

I gradually became aware of the sounds of a kaleidoscopic flurry of voices, and I realized that in this realm, thoughts were the mode of communication. Around me I could hear the buzz of thoughts, as if I were in a crowded movie theater with lights down low, picking up the sounds of hushed exchanges.

Sitting next to me was a man who appeared to be about sixty years old. This man's eyes were totally without comprehension. Pathetically squatting on the ground, draped in filthy white robes, he wasn't radiating anything, not even self-pity. I felt that he had absorbed everything there was to know here and had chosen to stop thinking. He was completely drained, just waiting. I knew that his soul had been rotting here forever. In this dark prison a day might as well be a thousand days or a thousand years.

I was sure that this man, like the middle-aged woman, had killed himself. His clothing suggested that he might have walked the earth during Jesus Christ's earthly ministry. I wondered if he was Judas Iscariot, who had betrayed the Savior and then hung himself. I felt that I should be embarrassed that I was thinking these things in his presence, where he could hear me.

As my mind reached for more information, I felt tremendous disappointment. I could feel and completely know about everything around me just by posing a question in my mind or by looking in any direction. The possibilities for learning were endless, but I had no books, no television, no love, no privacy, no sleep, no friends, no light, no growth, no happiness, and no relief  - no knowledge to gain and no way to use it.

But worse was my growing sense of complete aloneness. Even hearing the brunt of someone's anger, however unpleasant, is a form of tangible connection. But in this empty world, where no connections could be made, the solitude was terrifying.

Then I heard a voice of awesome power, not loud but crashing over me like a booming wave of sound; a voice that encompassed such ferocious anger that with one word it could destroy the universe, and that also encompassed such potent and unwavering love that, like the sun, it could coax life from the earth. I cowered at its force and at its excruciating words: 

"Is this what you really want?"
 

The great voice emanated from a pinpoint of light that swelled with each thunderous word until it hung like a radiant sun just beyond the black wall of mist that formed my prison. Though far more brilliant that the sun, the light soothed my eyes with its deep and pure white luminescence. I sensed that the light could not (or perhaps would not - I wasn't sure) cross the barrier into the darkness. And I knew with complete certainty that I was in the presence of God.

He was a Being of Light, not just radiating light or illuminated from within, but he almost seemed to be made of the light. It was a light that had substance and dimension, the most beautiful, glorious substance that I have ever beheld. All beauty, all love, all goodness were contained in the light that poured forth from this being. But there is nothing that we are even capable of imagining that comes close to the magnitude of perfect love that this being poured into me.

While I was not remembering details of a life before my mortal birth, I was reacquainting myself with the life that I shared with the Father, a spirit life that seemed to extend to the beginning of the universe.

I could see that none of the others in the realm were aware of God's presence. The man cowering next to me could see that I was focused on something, but it was apparent that he couldn't see anything beyond the barrier. Others continued to babble unaware.

Then God spoke to me. His words were excruciating:

"Is this what you really want? Don't you know that this is the worst thing you could have done?"
 

I could feel his anger and frustration, both because I'd thrown in the towel and because I had cut myself off from him and from his guidance.

And I'd felt trapped. I had been able to see no other choice but to die before I could do any more damage in life. So I answered:

"But my life is so hard."

My thoughts were communicated so fast that they weren't even completed before I absorbed his response:

"You think that was hard? It is nothing compared to what awaits you if you take your life."
 

When the Father spoke, each of his words exploded into a complex of meanings, like fireworks, tiny balls of light that erupted into a billion bits of information, filling me with streams of vivid truth and pure understanding.

"Life's supposed to be hard. You can't skip over parts. We have all done it. You must earn what you receive."
 

Suddenly I  felt another presence with us, the same presence that had been with me when I first crossed over into death and who had reviewed my life with me. I recognized that he had been with us the whole time, but that I was only now becoming able to perceive him. Then I'd sensed his powerful, yet gentle personality, but now I could feel him so strongly that I could even ascertain his shape. What I could see were bits of light coming through the darkness, like tiny laser beams pinpricking a black sheet or like stars peeping through the blackness of a cloudless night. This light was unmistakably of the same brilliance as the glorious light that emanated from the Father, but my spiritual eyes were incapable of fully beholding it. My ability to see with my eyes was somehow linked to my willingness to believe.

The rays of light penetrated me with incredible force, with the power of an all-consuming love. This love was as pure and potent as the Father's, but it had an entirely new dimension of pure compassion, of complete and perfect empathy. I felt that he not only understood my life and my pains exactly, as if he had actually lived my life, but that he knew everything about how to guide me through it; how my different choices could produce either more bitterness or new growth. Having thought all my life that no one could possibly understand what I had been through, I was now aware that there was one other person who truly did.

Through this empathy ran a deep vein of sorrow. He ached, he truly grieved for the pain I had endured, but even more for my failure to seek his comfort. His greatest desire was to help me. He mourned my blindness as a mother would mourn a dead child. Suddenly I knew that I was in the presence of the redeemer of the world.

He spoke to me through the veil of darkness:

"Don't you understand? I have done this for you."

As I was flooded with his love and with the actual pain that he bore for me, my spiritual eyes were opened. In that moment I began to see just exactly what it was that the Savior had done, how he had sacrificed for me. He showed me; He had taken me into himself, subsumed my life in his, embracing my experiences, my sufferings, as his own. And so for a second I was within his body, able to see things from his point of view and to experience his self-awareness. He let me in so I could see for myself how he had taken on my burdens and how much love he bore me.

And I knew where I had gone wrong. I had doubted his existence. I had questioned the authenticity of the scriptures because what they claimed seemed too good to be true. I had hoped that there was truth to the idea of a Savior who had given his life for me, but I had been afraid to really believe. To believe without seeing requires a great deal of trust. My trust had been violated so many times in my life that I had very little to spare. And so I had clung to my pain so tightly that I was willing to end my life rather than unburden myself and act on the chance that a Savior existed. He wanted to comfort me and to hold me, but we were separated by my responses to the lessons of life. He had been there for me all through my life, but I had not trusted him.

As I watched from the Savior's perspective, his unique comprehension of my predicament was transferred to the Father. From my new perspective I saw God in profile as he was looking at my form. The Father and his Son's communication was so rapid, so perfect, that they seemed to think each other's thoughts in unison. Jesus was pleading my case. There was no conflict or argument here;  Jesus' understanding was accepted without dispute because he had all the facts. He was the perfect judge. He knew precisely where I stood in relation to my need for mercy and the universe's need for justice. Now I could see that all the suffering in my mortal life would be temporary, and that it was actually for my good. Our sufferings on earth need not be futile. Out of the most tragic of circumstances springs human growth.

As God the Father and Jesus were teaching me, their words picked up speed and power and then merged, so that they were saying the exact same things in the very same moment. They shared one voice, one mind, and the purpose, and I was deluged with pure knowledge.

I learned that just as there are laws of nature, of physics and probability, there are laws of spirit. One of these spiritual laws is that a price of suffering must be paid for every act of harm. I was painfully aware of the suffering I had caused my family and other people because of my own weaknesses. But now I saw that by ending my life, I was destroying the web of connections of people on earth, possibly drastically altering the lives of millions, for all of us are inseparably linked, and the negative impact of one decision has the capacity to be felt throughout the world.

My children, certainly, would be gravely harmed by my suicide. I was given a glimpse of their future, not the events of their lives but rather energy, and the character that their lives would have. By abandoning my earthly responsibilities, I would influence my children, my oldest son in particular, to make choices that would lead him away from his divine purpose. Before Alex was born, I was told, he had agreed to perform specific tasks during his life on earth. His duty was not revealed to me, but I felt the energy that his life would have up until his young adult years.

I was told that my children were great and powerful spirits and that up to this point in my life, I had not deserved them. I caught a glimpse of how deeply God loves my boys, and how, with my callous disregard for their welfare, I was tampering with the sacred will of God.

Then I was shown how I would harm other people close to me, such as my husband and my sister, Tony, by taking my life; and by extension, countless others. There were people on the earth whom I would never meet who would be affected by my suicide. Because of the anger and pain I would cause them, my loved ones would be unable to store up the goodness that they were meant to pass on to others. I would be held responsible for the damages - or the lack of good - they would do while immersed in the pain of my selfish death. And I would pay dearly for it, since spiritual laws dictate that all of the harm, including lack of good, stemming from my death be punished by a measure of suffering. Even though I couldn't foresee the ripple effect my death would cause, I would be held accountable. God himself is bound by spiritual law, and so there could be no escape for me.

And I was shown that for me, the realm of darkness was quite literally spiritual time-out, a place where I was supposed to grasp the gravity of my offenses and to pay the price. But I had to ask, why me? Why was it that I could see God while the vacant husk of a man next to me could not?  Why was I absorbing light and being taught, while he was hunkering down in misery and darkness?

I was told that the reason is willingness. When I first looked at that man and wondered if he had been alive during the earthly ministry of Jesus, the question showed that I was willing to believe in God, willing to believe that Christ had once walked the earth. And once I was willing to believe, I was able to see.  Willingness and ability are the same thing. All around me on the dark realm were people of varying degrees of willingness, of understanding, of ability to see that Jesus Christ was there with us the whole time. I don't know if the others were talking to God as I was or if they were talking to other messengers of light that I was not yet capable of seeing, but I'm sure that not all of them were just mumbling to themselves. And I could see that my spiritual time-out could have lasted a moment, or it could have taken me thousands of years to progress out of that dark prison, depending on when I reached the point of willingness to see the light.

And what about the spiritual law that required me to suffer for the damage I had already done in life, up until and including my suicide? I was told that the debt had already been paid, that the sacrifice had already been made. In the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus Christ had experienced all the suffering that has or ever will take place in the life of any human born on this earth. He experienced my life, he bore my sins, he accepted my grief. But in order for the agony that Jesus endured on my behalf to count, in order for him to take my place in fulfilling that spiritual law, I had to accept his gift.

My heart broke as I realized that I had been not only hurting my family, who are beloved children of God, but also causing my Savior, who had such all-encompassing love and compassion for me, to suffer - all because I had allowed myself to be molded by other people's weaknesses.

Now my perception was shifting, and the darkness seemed to lift slightly. When I first entered the dark prison, my vision took in only the things and the people in the realm of darkness. But once I had taken enough light in from God and Jesus, my spiritual eyes were opened to another dimension in the darkness. Now I could see that Beings of Light were all around me.

Hell, while also a specific dimension, is primarily a state of mind. When we die, we are bound by what we think. In mortality the more solid our thoughts become, as we act upon them - allowing darkness to develop in others and in ourselves - the more damning they are. I had been in hell long before I died, and I hadn't realized it because I had escaped many of the consequences up until the point that I took my life. But when we die, our state of mind grows far more obvious because we are gathered together with those who think as we do. This ordering is completely natural and is consistent with how we choose to live while we are in this world. Our time is but a heartbeat in the eternal scheme of creation, and yet it is the crucial moment of truth, the turning point. It determines how our spirits will exist forever, into both the future and the past.

I was becoming less and less a part of the place of darkness with each particle of light that I accepted. I hadn't felt myself lift off the surface, but now I was hovering above the field of darkness, into the realm of the scurrying spirits of light.

I could feel the urgency in the spirits who were scurrying about to do the work of God. I was then told that we are in the final moments before the Savior will return to the earth. I was told that the war between darkness and light upon the earth has grown so intense that if we are not continually seeking light, the darkness will consume us and we will be lost. I was not told when it would happen, but I understood that the earth is being prepared for the second coming of Christ. I looked down at the pathetic souls and realized that I no longer felt as they did. I wanted to live.

Then the powerful energy source that had transported me to the dark prison returned to liberate me. For a split second a rushing sensation engulfed me. The darkness sped past, and suddenly I was back in my body, lying on the couch.

A Land Unknown: Hell's Dominion

"I contracted Cholera by drinking contaminated water someone had left in a thermos while I was working at a local construction site. The progression on this disease left me in a severe dehydrated state which became terminal. I was at home and lying in bed when it happened. My breathing was becoming a series of protracted wheezing gasps. Looking around the room, I was amazed that I could see so pristine clear without my glasses. The alarm clock ticked. It was ten minutes till noon. Everything became surreal."  

With a sudden swoosh, I floated above my body. Hovering there, I fully realized I had died. At that time, I was not a Christian and fell into a naturalistic agnostic atheistic belief system. Despite growing up in a loving Southern Baptist family, I did not believe in the Christian concept of God. I knew very little about Jesus, the afterlife, and God. All this was about to radically change.

 I floated above my body and felt no more pain from the effects of cholera. While gazing at the room, I turned and faced the ceiling. Suddenly, I felt myself drift through the ceiling’s textured drywall and was engulfed in an extremely peaceful blackness. In this pleasant darkness I heard the most astounding humming/singing sounds. I was floating in this pitch blackness listing to the resonances while slowly moving toward a speck of light that was slowly growing bigger and bigger as I neared.

 Soon this dazzling brilliant light began dispelling this pleasant darkness in hues of colors never before seen. The light was being emitted by an individual standing upon what appeared to me to be a huge rock suspended in space. This person wore beautiful whitish robe like garments and seemed to be sitting on a chair carved out from the rock. I landed below this person. He stood up and walked down several steps to where I had landed. I wept and fell like a heavy sack of wheat. Someone touched my shoulder. I stood up.

 This marvelous person showed me my life course, which revealed I was without excuse. It was then I knew I was being judged and deserved my fate. You could do nothing but stand directly before him, whose robe’s drooping hood concealed his face, and receive your sentence. 

 As I looked at him, I noticed that he bore terrible trauma to his hands and feet. Around the wrist were gnashes deeply cut therein. The bones clearly showing that the very joints had been ripped apart by bearing a great weight. He just stood there. I felt ashamed.

 He began to speak to me by the agency of thought and told me I was to see another land for an appointed time. After arriving there, I was to speak his name and title and see what I would see. He went on and revealed that it was prearranged once for a person to die but returning is an option decided by his Father’s will. Children were raised; others were raised, for God’s glory and purposes when it was not their hour. He stated that I would return the way I had come, and then he pointed towards an entrance of a tunnel off to his left.

 Seeing it, I was lifted by some gentle force and floated toward it, feet first. When this occurred, I noticed I was wearing robe like garments. I entered the tunnel and was engulfed within a violently spinning vortex heading toward a yellowish dint of light. Reaching it, I found myself falling from its sky and landed with a thud upon the ground.

 I stood up and looked around. I saw a house on a hill, smelled horrible odors, and heard strange sounds. People came from the house and neared me with joyous shouts of welcome. Where was I? Heaven? Hell? At first, I thought I was in a paradise but the sounds and smells were all wrong.

 Something was not right about these people either. For some reason they began appearing translucent. With this, I began to see them for what they really were – strange foul creatures emitting the illusions of people. Upon seeing this, two words erupted from my mouth like the staccato of a machine gun: Jesus Christ. I said these two words non-stop till I left this place. I was in a state of stark terror as the reality of where I was hit home.

 One creature began to speak to me in a heavy unknown accent and told me to follow it. What choice did I have? It walked to the horizon’s skyline, which appeared painted on a wall, reached out, and parted the yellowish sky. It walked through the torn hole it had made, bidding me to follow.

 (The Following five paragraphs are a direct quote from my book: A Land Unknown: Hell’s Dominion, Chapter Seven, used with my permission)

 “I followed the rank creature and immediately emerged on the other side of the horizon. A wide, dirty, flat, barren expanse of land gently sloped downward, betraying an endless circular spiral of misery. On the left side of the coiled grade were rows and rows of cubes with more cubes columned high, forming a wall of ten-by-ten foot partitions mirroring the events displayed inside.

 Each cube was stacked six high, marring each ascending and descending spiraling level’s wall like a dirty mirror. The wide expanse was a road. Strange entities were traveling on it. This wide dusty road ended at a circular void, highlighting the center of this hellish domain.

 The cubes appeared encompassed by thin smoke-tinted, gelatin-like walls. Each cube appeared to be about ten feet by ten feet square. You could see into these but not out of them. Within every chamber resided an individual person, trapped, unable to escape as I had.

 Looking through the torn wall of the cube I had just stepped out of, the house and tree within were hauntingly calling my name to return. Perplexed, I stepped back for another glance at this cubicle. I was surprised that it was so small. Inside it had seemed so large!

 Turning, I saw the lizard-like entity a few feet from me, reaching its ugly, greenish-yellow arms as if to drag me away to a desperate fate. Boxer style, I blocked the attempt. This fiend stepped back, grinning ear to ear.” End Quote.

 What I saw is best described in the Holy Bible within the pages of Ezekiel 32:17-32. This chapter describes hell as a circular burial pit where the dead are buried within the walls of a pit in accordance to his or her deeds. Each individual is placed in a chamber described symbolically as a bed chamber (Ezekiel 32:24-25) where the resident restlessly rest experiencing recompense for his or her deeds (Note context of Ezekiel 32:30) performed on earth.

 Inside each cube, I spied individual people in various stages of boredom, anguishes, and hideous various torments. Ghoulish entities were inside these cubes giving the illusions of people, places, and things to each trapped soul enacting the scenes from each person’s life. I also traveled between these cubes to more cubes that lay behind as the journey continued.

 The creature before me began speaking to me again with such foul language and curses that I cannot record what it really said for you. I began understanding its speech and could sort out the general theme it was speaking from its cursing. It then began showing me around this domain.

 Out from the cubicle wall’s was a large dusty plain or road. Both ugly and beautiful beings roamed in lose packs on this plain. During the duration of my stay, many of these entities attempted to engage me in conversation. I was too terrified to respond but only spoke out the words, “Jesus Christ” non-stop.

 I was taken on a hellish tour of this place by the ghastly creature in front of me. We descended to the lower levels of the spiral road as well as observed what was happening inside the cubes to each lost soul we passed. This hellish journey seemed to last forever. I wanted to wake up so bad, but could not.

 Each trapped soul reaped in full measure whatever they had sown during their lives. Many entered this pit and into the cubes by means of spinning vortexes. I also noticed another entrance. All those people trapped resided totally alone and were not aware of each other. The only thing each was aware of, were the creatures residing with them and the scenes enacted within their own personal square nightmarish abode.

I would say that each person trapped there felt a peculiar separation from God in the form of feeling banished forever from the loving nature of God and true life. Each knew fully that they deserved his or her fate because each chose to walk away from God and now resided in place without God as they desired during his or hers life lived on earth. God, in his great justice, fairness, and unfathomable love gave them what they desired: a place without God and where each was receiving the fruits of his or her own doings.

 When many of these individuals entered their private abodes, they were first deceived into thinking they had arrived in a paradise. As eternity passes – the real nature of this place was fully revealed to them. Others entered into instant anguish. It is truly a place of doom, despair, and unending nightmares.

 I felt greatest fear when the beastly guide tried to entrap me inside a unique cubicle. It is here, I was rescued while screaming out the words, Jesus Christ. I felt someone coming for me and arrive behind me and then lift me up.

 (Quote from Book) “One arm was under my shoulders and the other under the bend of my knees. Oh! A sensation of love, mercy, authority, power, justice, and righteousness overwhelmed me. I no longer had any need to speak the two words that I previously spoke without ceasing. I turned my head into the cleft of the being’s shoulder and wept profusely against the white garb.

 The Person who held me fast said not a word. I glanced at the hand gripping my shoulder. There was an ugly gash near the wrist close to the hand as though a great pulling weight had made this mark and separated the bones above the wrist. A hole went straight through, then the tear. You could easily have placed a finger through the gash, with your fingertip protruding to the other side, but to do so would have been very disrespectful and inappropriate at a time like this.”

 I wept as the redeemer carried me back to the cube I arrived in and then through the vortex back to the rock. He set my feet upon that Huge Rock where I was granted a glimpse of Heaven and was told that none can enter Heaven unless they come through the gate which was the robe clad personage standing before me.

Many things were revealed to me there, on that rock, to numerous to record. I was told it was time to leave and return. I floated back the way I had come. I was soon in my room above my body looking at the scene below. I glided back into my body and awoke with a start. I could not regain my breath until someone began hitting me on my back. I was rushed to a Hospital for further treatment and recovery.

 The duration of my NDE, was about four hours. I remember seeing a clock when I first left my body stating the time was 11:50 AM and when I returned, it was close to 4 PM. I still suffer several health effects from this. My heart makes a nice clicking sound. My short term memory suffered as well. Afterwards, my speech was slurred a bit but has returned to normal with the passage of time.

 My experience has left me a deep appreciation for the work of Jesus Christ and His salvation. I became a born again Christian because of it. I have renewed understanding of God’s profound love, justice, righteousness, grace, and mercy. Jesus came to save that which is lost. You see, heaven is real and hell is real. Eternity is without end. Do you really want to spend eternity without God? Or with God? That choice is yours alone – the decision is yours? What will it be? What will it be?

"The old Evangelist launched what he called the final all-out thrust, speaking the Word of God with reckless abandon. In pockets all over the earth, others began doing the same. I was able to see this awesome display of Almighty God’s power at work. I could see the Global scene in full demonstration of who Jesus was and just what He could do. I saw miracles everywhere. God’s people working miracles on a wholesale basis by all who were truly the Lord’s people. The difference was the real servants of God were able to do awesome miraculous works; creating miracles, including the dead raised to life, and healing after healing of incurable diseases. This was happening all over the world. It was as though Jesus himself was everywhere doing His work through ordinary people. Unbelievable miracles were now commonplace."

There is one place where we are told about the beginning of time to the end of time, and that is within the bible.  The bible has over 2000 propheciesthat detail descriptions of the end of days we are seeing come to pass today.   We are told about a world government in the bible coming to power, the micro chip mark on the hand (which we can see being set into place today), as well as many other prophecies that are yet to come such as Damascus's (Syra) annihilation.

"Can this be death?" I wondered.  If so, I certainly had nothing to fear.  There was no darkness, no uncertainty, only a change in location and a total sense of well-being.

All around me was a magnificent deep blue sky, unobscured by clouds.  Looking about, I realized that there was no road or path.  Yet I seemed to know where to go.

Then I realized I was not walking alone.  To the left, and a little behind me, strode a tall, masculine-looking figure in a robe.  I wondered if he were an angel and tried to see if he had wings.  But he was facing me and I could not see his back.  I sensed, however, that he could go anywhere he wanted and very quickly.

We did not speak to each other.  Somehow it didn't seem necessary, for we were both going in the same direction.  Then I became aware that he was not a stranger.  He knew me and I felt a strange kinship with him.  Where had we met?  Had we always known each other?  It seemed we had.  Where were we now going?

As we walked together I saw no sun - but light was everywhere.  Off to the left there were multicolored flowers blooming.  Also trees, shrubs.  On the right was a low stone wall.

My emotion was a combination of feelings: youth, serenity, fulfillment, health, awareness, tranquility.  I felt I had everything I ever wanted to have.  I was everything I had ever intended to be.  I was arriving at where I had always dreamed of being.

The wall to my right was higher now and made of many-colored, multi-tiered stones.  A light from the other side of the wall shone through a long row of amber-colored gems several feet above my head. "Topaz," I thought to myself.

Just as we crested the top of the hill, I heard my father's voice calling, "Jesus, Jesus, Jesus."  His voice was a long distance away.  I thought about turning back to find him.  I did not because I knew my destination was ahead.  We walked along in silence save for the whisper of a gentle breeze ruffling the white, sheer garments of the angel.

We came upon a magnificent, silver structure.  It was like a palace except there were no towers.  As we walked toward it, I head voices.  They were melodious, harmonious, blending in chorus and I heard the word, "Jesus."  There were more than four parts to their harmony.  I not only heard the singing and felt the singing but I joined the singing.  I have always had a girl's body, but a low boy's voice.  Suddenly I realized I was singing the way I had always wanted to ... in high, clear and sweet tones.

After a while the music softened, then the unseen voices picked up a new chorus.  The voices not only burst forth in more than four parts, but they were in different languages.  I was awed by the richness and perfect blending of the words - and I could understand them!  I do not know why this was possible except that I was part of a universal experience.

While the angel and I walked together I sensed we could go wherever we willed ourselves to go and be there instantly.  Communication between us was through the projection of thoughts.  The words sung in all the different languages were understandable, but I don't know how or why.  We all seemed to be on some universal wave length.

I thought at the time, "I will never forget the melody and these words."  But later I could only recall two: "Jesus" and "redeemed."

The angel stepped forward and put the palm of his hand upon a gate which I had not noticed before.  About twelve feet high, the gate was a solid sheet of pearl, with no handles and some lovely scroll work at the top of its Gothic structure.  The pearl was translucent so that I could almost, but not quite, see inside.  The atmosphere inside was somehow filtered through.  My feeling was of ecstatic joy and anticipation at the thought of going inside.

When the angel stepped forward, pressing his palm on the gate, an opening appeared in the center of the pearl panel and slowly widened and deepened as though the translucent material was dissolving.  Inside I saw what appeared to be a street of golden color with an overlay of glass or water.  The yellow light that appeared was dazzling.  There is no way to describe it.  I saw no figure, yet I was conscious of a Person.  Suddenly I knew that the light was Jesus, the Person was Jesus.

I did not have to move.  The light was all about me.  There seemed to be some heat in it as if I were standing in sunlight; my body began to glow.  Every part of me was absorbing the light.  I felt bathed by the rays of a powerful, penetrating, loving energy.

The angel looked at me and communicated the thought: "Would you like to go in and join them?"

I longed with all my being to go inside, yet I hesitated.  Did I have a choice?  Then I remembered my father's voice.  Perhaps I should go and find him.

"I would like to stay and sing a little longer, then go back down the hill!" I finally answered.  I started to say something more.  But it was too late.

The gates slowly melted into one sheet of pearl again and we began walking back down the same beautiful hill.  This time the jeweled wall was on my left and the angel walked on my right.

Then I saw the sun coming up over the wall.  This surprised me since it was already very light and there seemed to be no passing of time.  It was a lovely sunrise.  The topaz and other stones glowed brilliantly.  I remember noticing that the wall now made a deep shadow on my side.

Walking down the hill I looked into Terre Haute as the worlds of spirit and time and space began to fuse back together.  Ahead of me were many church steeples glistening in the morning sun.  I was suddenly aware of God's love for all His churches.  It was a sudden bit of knowledge, as if I were being told this on the inside by the Holy Spirit.  At that moment I loved all His churches too; and as my prejudices dissolved, I loved all His people.

Then I saw the tops of trees, then the hospital.  My eyes seemed to bore through the walls of the hospital like laser beams, down the hall of the third floor to Room 336.  I saw a figure on the bed with a sheet pulled over it.

After my descent I slowed down and stopped.  The sun's rays were in my eyes.  There were dust particles in the light which suddenly changed to wavy letters about two inces high flashing before me like a ticker-tape message.  The letters seemed composed of translucent ivory, only fluid - moving through the rays of the sun.

I was back in my hospital bed now and the letters stretched all the way from the window, past my bed and on into the room.  They read:  I am the resurrection and the life; he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.

The words were so alive that they pulsated.  I knew that I had to touch those living words.  I reached up and out and pushed the sheet off my face.  At that instant the Word of God literally became life to me.

 "The book is about the melding of science and spirituality. He argues for the belief that 'near death experiences' are for real. To get across his point he mentions Einstein's theory of relativity, quantum theory and other scientific evidences to prove his point. The speed of light plays a major part in all of this. The Big Bang is discussed along with magnetic wave lengths. He is very convincing in his presentation. However, I'm am still somewhat skeptical.
Long before 'Near Death Experiences' came to be talked about, I had a similar experience. I was anywhere between the ages of 2-years and 6-years old, which would be back in the late 1930's or very early 1940's. I know that I was in a car accident and that I had a bad experience with ether when I had my tonsils taken out which could have prompted my near death experience.Anyway, over the years I recall this experience once in awhile. There was this tunnel that was narrow at one end and became wider as you approached a magnificent glowing of light and then I saw Jesus who was surrounded by angels (no they did not have wings), at least I presumed they were angels. As I drew nearer the presence of Jesus, He asked me if I wanted to stay. He told me that if I returned my life would be very difficult I told him that I could survive the difficulty and would like to return. So here I am. By the way, even though I was just a child, in the presence of Jesus I talked and understood as an adult. Then over the years I started debating this with myself. He did not tell me that I had to return, He asked me if I wanted to return. Having told me that my life would be difficult, I have reasoned that by answering Him that I wanted to return, I was being arrogant and prideful. That has bothered me. Yet I'm still skeptical that it was an actual experience, and just not my brain putting these thoughts in my head while dying. Then I think, why the question from Jesus, if it was just my brain playing tricks. Eventually I will know the truth.The author is very persuasive in his presentation of near death experiences being true and claims that these people enter one of the dimensions that are not available to us humans otherwise. Doctors waited 25 days to repair the broken bones which were a cause of his accident, and in the process of repairing his legs doctors accidently severed the nerve in his leg.  Additionally, they had to remove three bones out of his right foot, and had to add three steel plates, 19 screws and 2 pins.  He was diagnosed never to walk again in his life.   8 Weeks later, being a baby believer in Christ, he starts praying to Jesus, asking him to walk and he hears an audible voice telling him to get up and walk.  He got up and ran across the room.  The experience gave him an even stronger belief that God could do anything including allowing him to walk.  His account doesn't end there, as Richard L. Madison demonstrates the power of prayer in impossible circumstances seeing miracle after miracle.   He has prayed for 14 people who were in comas in which 6 of the people were brain dead, and all of them came back.  He has also been given the gift of prophecy where he has seen many end times events.

Daniel died during the trip to the hospital  near the town of Onitsha, Nigeria, Africa on November 30th, 2001.  He was later pronounced dead by two different medical staff in two different hospitals.  As further evidence a  Medical report was written allowing the release of the corpse to the mortuary.  Daniel´s wife remembered a verse in Scripture from Hebrews 11: "Women received their dead raised to life again."  She heard about a meeting where Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke was preaching, and brought Daniel´s body in his coffin.  Reinhard Bonnke does see miracles, and millions upon millions travel far to give their lives to Jesus in the many crusades he has held.

The Ethiopian woman in the video was raised as a Muslim, but she had become a Christian before this near death experience.  Atheists and skeptics often have a hard time dealing with the fact that Christians all over the world seem to have such similar near death experiences.  We should be thankful to God that we have such a diverse array of testimonies from people all over the globe who have actually been to heaven and are telling us that it is very, very real.

But do people actually get raised from the dead in the name of Jesus today?

Are some of these miracles publicly documented? 

Yes.

One of the most extraordinary examples of this phenomenon in recent years is a case from Florida.

Dr. Chauncey W. Crandall IV is a famous heart doctor who has not been shy about telling of an extraordinary situation where the Lord God directed him to pray for a 53 year old car mechanic who had died from a heart attack.

In his stirring testimony about this event, Dr. Crandall makes it exceedingly clear that this mechanic was completely and totally dead.

In fact, Dr. Crandall says that his face and feet and arms "were completely black with death".

Everyone had completely given up on resuscitating this man, but Dr. Crandall says that God directed him to pray for this man.

So Dr. Crandall began praying fervently for the mechanic.  Dr. Crandall reports that this is what he prayed:

"Father, God, I cry out for the soul of this man if he does not know You as his Lord and Savior, please raise him from the dead right now in Jesus name." 

A couple minutes later a heartbeat started showing up.  The man had come back to life after being prayed for in the name of Jesus.

While the man was out of his body, he reports having a "hell-like" experience, and when he came back to life Dr. Crandall led him through a prayer to accept Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.

 My Descent Into Death: A Second Chance at Life

"I was a 38 year old college professor, teaching art.  I had taken my students along with my wife around Europe.  We had just done a 3 week tour, and this was the next to the last day.  While we were in Paris, at 11:00 am, I had a perforation of my stomach.  When this happened it was the most acute pain I had ever experienced in my life, and it just dropped me right down on the ground.  So I was twisting, screaming, moaning, kicking and yelling around on the floor, and my wife called the emergency service. 

A doctor came and got an ambulance because he knew what was wrong.  The ambulance took me 8 miles across town to a public hospital.  I was then taken into the emergency room and examined by 2 more doctors, who knew exactly what was wrong with me.  Then I went into surgery. 

But because there was no surgeon available, I was just parked there to wait.  So I lay there for 8 to 10 hours in that hospital with no medication, no examination, no attention what-so-ever, waiting for a surgeon to come and give me a critical operation.

Now it 8:30 at night and a nurse came in and told me that they were very sorry that could not get a doctor for me and that they would get one the next day.  When she said that, I knew it was over for me, I knew I was dead.  The only thing keeping me alive was that I didn’t want to die.  I knew I was an atheist, a non-believer, a person who lived for their own gratification. 

Next to the pain, dieing was the worst thing that could happen to me because it was the end of life, and there was no more, nothing else.  But when she told me that no surgeon was available until the next day, the idea of trying to exist for another minute or another hour with this pain was not worth it anymore.  I had been hanging on in the hopes that they would get a doctor and do the surgery, open me up and fix the problem.  But when they said they could not get a doctor, I said to my wife that is was time for us to say good bye because I’m going to die now. 

So she got up and put her arms around me, she told me how much she loved me and I told her how much I loved her, it was really sad.  We made our good byes. We said those things you say after you’ve been together for 20 years.

She finally sat down because she knew it was over, and I knew.  It was so hard looking at her crying like that, so I closed my eyes and just let go.  I went unconscious.  I was probably unconscious for only a short while, a few minutes probably. 

Then I was conscious again.  I opened my eyes and looked and I was standing up next to my bed.  I knew exactly where I was, and what the situation was, there was no confusion in my mind.  I felt alive, more real than I’ve ever felt in my life.  People asked me, “were you a ghost?” I was just the opposite, I was very alive.

As I am looking around the room, I notice that there is something underneath the sheet on the bed, a body.  So I bent over the bed to look at the face and it looked like me.  But that wasn’t possible, I’m alive, I’m great, I’m more than alive.  So I tried to talk to my wife, but she couldn’t hear me or see me.  I thought that she was just ignoring me.  So I got very angry at her, for ignoring me.

So I’m screaming and yelling at her, “Why is there this body in bed that looks like me? How did it get there?” I had a sneaking suspicion that the body was me, but that was too scary to think about.  So I’m getting really agitated and upset, because this is all too weird.  This can’t be happening, it’s impossible; I got a hospital gown on, and everything is very real. 

I hear people calling for me outside the room, speaking in soft gentle voices.  “Howard, you need to come with us now.  Come quickly, come out here.”  So I went to the doorway of the room.  There are people outside in the hallway.  The hallway is dank, it’s grey, not light or dark, it’s just grey.  All these men and women dressed in grey, in what might be considered hospital uniforms.  I asked them if they were from the doctors to take me to the operation room.  I told them all about my situation and how I have been waiting.  They keep saying, “We know, we know, we understand.  Howard come quickly, come with us, we’ve been waiting for you.”

I left the room which was really clear and bright, and I went into the hallway which was dank and hazy.  I followed these people; we had a very long journey.  There is no time, and when I make a reference to time, it’s just an illusion because there was no time in this place.  But this place, if I was to recreate it, I would have to walk from Nashville to Louisville (175 miles, 281 km) to recreate the walk with these people. 

As we walked they stayed around me, kept moving me on, and it kept getting darker and darker.  They were becoming more and more openly hostile to me.  At first they were syrupy sweet to get me to go with them.  Then when I was going with them they said things like, “hurry up, keep moving, shut-up, stop asking questions” It got more ugly.

So we get into complete darkness and I’m absolutely terrified.  These people are very hostile and I don’t know where I am.  I said, “I’m not going with you any further.” They said, “You’re almost there.” We started to fight and I was trying to get away from them.  They were pushing and pulling at me.  There were now a lot of them.  Originally it had been a handful, now with the darkness it could have been 100s or 1000s, I didn’t know. 

They were playing with me.  They could have destroyed me if they wanted to, but they didn’t want to.  They wanted to inflict pain on me, because they derived satisfaction out of the pain that I experienced.  It’s really hard for me to talk about, and I won’t tell you much about it; it gets too ugly.  Initially they were tearing with their fingernails, scratching, gouging, ripping, and biting.  I was trying to defend myself, trying to fight them off and get away from them but it was like being in a bee hive, there were hundreds all over me.

Soon I was lying on the ground; all ripped up with pain everywhere, inside and outside.  Even harder to bear the physical pain was the emotional pain, with utter degradation.  I never once felt that it was unjust or wrong.

I heard my voice, not someone’s voice or the voice of God, it was my voice, but I didn’t speak it.  Maybe it was my conscious, I don’t know, but I distinctly heard it say, “Pray to God!” So I thought to myself, “I don’t believe in God.” I was thinking, “even if I could pray, I don’t know how to pray anymore.”

At that time, I haven’t prayed for about 23 years.  When I was a child, we said prayers in Sunday school and Church.  I was trying to remember them.  To me, praying was just reciting something that I learned.

“The Lord is my Shepherd, give us this day our daily bread, my country tis’ of thee.  Wait, that’s not a prayer.  Yea thou I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, for score and seven years ago our forefathers…” I’m getting all mixed up, I can’t remember how to pray. 

Every time I would mention God to these people that hurt me, it was like throwing boiling water on them.  They would shriek, scream and yell.  They would use the worst profanity I had ever heard in this world.  They could not bear to be around me talking about God.  It was so painful for them to hear about God that they kept backing away.  So I had a sense that I could push them away by talking about God.  So I am trying to remember prayers, but I was getting confused and mixed up.

Eventually I realize that they are gone and I’m alone.  I was alone there for an eternity, what I mean was that I had no sense of time.  But I thought about my life, I though about what I had done, and what I hadn’t done.  I thought about this situation I was in.  The conclusion that I came to was this, my entire adult live was selfish, and my only god was myself.  I realized that there was something terribly wrong with my life, and that the people that attacked me were the same kind of people that I was.  They were not monsters, nor demons; they were people who had missed IT.  The point of being alive in this world, they had missed it, they had lived lives of selfishness and cruelty.  And now I was in a world where there was nothing else; nothing but selfishness and cruelty.  They were doomed to inflict that upon each other and themselves forever, without end.  And now I was a part of it.

Though I didn’t want to be there, it seemed like the right place for me to be.  I felt that this is what I deserver, because this is how I lived.  You can’t imaging how emotionally painful that was.  I’m lying there for time without end, thinking about my fate.

In the back of my mind comes up an image of myself as a child, sitting in a Sunday school class, singing Jesus Loves Me.  “Jesus loves me, la la la, Jesus loves me, la la la.” I could hear myself as a child singing it.  More important than anything else was that I could feel it in my heart.

There was a time in my life when I was young and innocent and I believed in something good, I believed in someone other that myself.  I believed in someone who was all good, all powerful, who really really cared about me, and I wanted that back.  That which I had lost, I had thrown away, I betrayed, I wanted that back.  I didn’t know Jesus, but I wanted to know Jesus.  I didn’t know His love, but I wanted to know His love.  I didn’t know if He was real, but I wanted Him to be real.  There was a time in my life where I did believe in something, and I wanted to trust that it was true. 

So I call up into the darkness, “Jesus, please save me!” and He came.   First there was a tiny little spec of light in the darkness, vary rapidly it got brighter.  The light became so bring that in the physical world it would have consumed me.  It would have fried me to a crisp.  But it was not hot or dangerous there.  He was in this light and he reached down and gently started to pick me up.

In His light I could see that I was all gory, filthy and had wounds all over.  I looked like road kill.  He was gently putting His hands underneath me and tenderly picking me up.  As He was touching me, all the wounds, pain and dirt just goes away.  It just evaporated away, and I was whole and healed.  And inside, just filled with His love.  I wish I could explain it.  It’s frustrating not being able to tell people about it because it was the best thing that ever happened to me in my life, it was everything.  It was the ALL of life to know that love, and I just can't reveal that to you. 

So He’s holding me, embracing me, rubbing my back, like a father would his son, like a mother would her daughter, just gently rubbing my back.  I am balling like a baby out of happiness; from being lost and now found, being dead and now brought back to life.  He’s carrying me out of there, and we just flew out.

We were moving towards a world of light, and I began to have thoughts of tremendous shame.  I’ve been so bad, I thought of myself as dirt, garbage and filth.  I thought to myself, “He’s made a mistake, I don’t belong here, He doesn’t want me.” How could He care about me, why me, I’m bad.

Then we stopped, we weren’t in hell, we weren’t in Heaven, we were in-between.  He said, “We don’t make mistakes, you belong here.” We began to converse and He was telling me things. 

He brought over some angels who went over my life from beginning to end.  They showed me what I had done right and what I had done wrong.  And it was really simple.  When I had been a loving kind person, considerate of other people, it had made the angels happy, it had made Jesus happy, and they let me know that it made God happy.  When I had been selfish and manipulative it made the angels unhappy, it made Jesus unhappy, and they let me know it made God unhappy.  What they were trying to convey to me, in a nutshell, was that my whole purpose of my existence was to love God and love my neighbor as myself.  That is why I had been created, that is what I was in this world to do and to learn.  But I failed.

They told me that I needed to come back to this world, and I got really upset because I wanted to go to Heaven.  What they told me about Heaven was that it was the most fun, most interesting, and most wonderful place.  Everyone would want to go to Heaven and I wanted to get there.  They said that I was NOT ready, that I wasn’t fit, it wasn’t my time to go to Heaven.  It was my time to come back to this world and try and live the way that God wanted me to live, the way He created me to live.

I told Jesus and the angels that I couldn’t live in this world without them.  I said that my heart would break if they sent me back to this world.  They’d be there and I would be here.  They said to me, “You don’t get it? What is the matter? We are showing you all this.  We’ve always been there.  We’ve been with you all this time.  And you’ve never been alone down there.”

I said, “You’ve got to let me know that you are around once in a while.”  So they said if I prayed and confess my sins to God, if I give what I had to God, meaning to give my worries, cares, hopes, and my dreams, just give it all up to God, then there would be times when I would know in my heart that they are there.  Not necessarily seeing them, but I would feel the love like I felt then.  I told them that if they will assure me that there are times when I can know that love, then I could live in this world.  They said they would do that, then they send me back. 

After the experience, the nurse who’d said that they couldn’t find a doctor, she ran back to the room and said that a doctor has arrived.  at the hospital which is like this is pretty miraculous stuff because this is like around 9 or 9:30 at the night.  She said “the doctor has arrived at the hospital and we are going to do surgery on you right away.” And some … people came in and they through my wife out of the room.  It is very disturbing because I was trying to tell them I wanted to tell my wife what had happened to me.  So when I pass my wife on the hall on the path to the surgery, I said everything is going to be great.  And she just started thalling(?) …, that is like a dying man.  Strange thing about this experience is the memory hasn’t dull at all.  It is real tense and I don’t know it stays tense.  I believe one of the reasons that God gives me this experience is that I would have the opportunity to share it with someone.  I don’t know who and I never know who.  But I would have the opportunity to share with somebody so it could be a help to them.

"The City of Heaven is foursquare like a cube; its length and width and height are each about 1500 miles. But in space the City of Heaven appears large and round -- much larger than 1500 miles. This is because of what are called environs or suburbs, the outer parameter of Paradise. The foursquare Holy City is completely surrounded and enclosed by these suburbs. The outer edge of these suburbs is very large, much larger even than the earth. In these suburbs or shadowy groves the saints first arrive when they come from the earth; and in this transition from earth to Heaven, they learn many things. First, they learn that they can still see, hear, smell, taste, touch and remember, and that they have a form like their earth body. This form is their spirit, now out of their body. When saints leave their bodies on earth, they have a sense of freedom as birds flying. They find their thoughts to be clear and their vision able to see both physical and spiritual realms."

"St John described the wall of this City as 'great and high,' and because we are near, it appears to reach up out of sight. In the eastern wall, facing us, there are three gates. Each one is surrounded by huge multicolored arches having the appearance of stained glass windows. The twelve foundations are covered with precious stones of twelve different colors -- one color of gem for each foundation. The colors are so arranged that the City appears sometimes to be sitting on a rainbow and sometimes to be surrounded by it."

"After we enter through the gate of pearly white light, we see a huge hallway. With its high vaulted ceilings and wide corridor, it is about 216 feet long, because the wall of this City is 216 feet thick. There are no lighting fixtures here. The light comes from the Throne of God and begins as a very bright white light. Then as this light is diffused through, and reflected from, the gem-like structure of this City, there emerges a rainbow spectrum which is the blending of five major colors: gold, blue, purple, red and green."

"So we stepped into the river and the experience was very stimulating and exciting. It was my first experience in touching the water of the River of Heaven. This crystal River of Life is not cold and wet like earthly water. We can breathe under the surface because this water is a manifestation or appearing of the Spirit of God. Walking in this river is walking in the Spirit, and these waters remove the scars and memories of sin from the souls and minds of the saints whose home is in Heaven. The sins themselves, of course, must be removed on earth by the blood Jesus shed on earth."

"The golden streets are on both sides of the river. Close to the water, they begin to slope downward and continue under the water forming the river bed. The golden streets are clear, but they look golden because they reflect the predominant gold color of the City. Here again the effect is like pearl -- we can see into the street but we cannot see through it. The river also is clear but it sparkles more like silver. The streets are on both sides of the river and are each about 90 feet wide. In the center of each street is a 30-foot wide green lawn with a row of trees, something like a boulevard. The trees are called the Tree of Life with twelve different fruits, one for each month. The lawn is made of short thick grass growing up out of white sand. There are also beds of fragrant colorful flowers artistically designed and arranged. This park of trees, streets, and river makes twelve spirals around and from the center of the City outward to the eastern gate. This park is about 26.000 miles long and could easily accommodate 144 million people. But in all my visits to this place, there appear to be very few people here."

"Some have wondered about family circles in Heaven. Togetherness here is different than it was on earth, because, even those who had no family on earth have a companion here, from whom they never part. We do at times have a banquet in our mansion for friends and relatives but they all bring their companions. And when we attend other banquets, we go as companions. For as Eden was made an eternal paradise for Adam and Eve until they fell, so Heaven was made for companions who are restored from the fall by Jesus, to be eternal sweethearts. There are no families here as there are on earth. But in a spiritual sense, those who are here are all one family in our Heavenly Father's big House. We can communicate by thought; but since we can't listen and talk to everybody at once, most human fellowship in Heaven is between companions. There are also small groups of companions talking, you could say, all at once. And there are larger groups listening to an interesting person, and there are also congregations listening to platform presentations or watching video scenes."

I have read a lot of books on the revelation of Hell. I have heard a lot of sermons on its existence, but nothing had prepared me for what I was about to read between the covers of this book "A Divine Revelation of Hell." The author, over a period of forty days, is given visions of hell and the people who are trapped there for eternity. I cannot begin to tell you the horrors that she saw and reported, but if you really want to know what is there, this is the book for you. However, I will warn you, she is faithful to reporting exactly what she has seen and if I were you, I would prepare myself before I opened the pages of this book ,because if what she is saying is true, and I believe it is, than we all must reevaluate our very existence and motives in this life before it is too late. Jesus was arrested in Gethsemane and following the Last Supper with the twelve Apostles, and forced to stand trial before the Sanhedrin, Pontius Pilate, and Herod Antipas, before being handed over for crucifixion.

The Process of Crucifixion began when the prisoner was arrested, where he was then held in a cell then brought before a court which decided what the outcome would be.   If the person was found guilty, and condemned to die by crucifixion, he was often beat or whipped or caned  beforehand.

Flogging involved stripping the prisoner and tying his hands to an upright post. A soldier stepped forward with the flagrum in his hand. A flagrum was a whip with a short wooden handle and leather thongs with small pieces of metal attached to the end of each thong. The metal pieces on the flagrum first bruised the skin, but over time would cut into the skin and tissues.  At first, an oozing of blood from the capillaries and veins of the skin would happen, and finally spurting arterial bleeding from vessels in the underlying muscles.

The skin of the back would be gaping open and the entire area would become an unrecognizable mass of torn, bleeding tissue. Flogging was meant to punish, terrify and weaken the condemned man.

After being flogged, Jesus was mocked by Roman soldiers as the "King of the Jews", clothed in a purple robe, crowned with thorns, beaten and spat on. Jesus then had to make his way to the place of his crucifixion.

At the place of execution, a heavy beam of wood, the crossbeam, was placed across the man's shoulders, probably attached there by leather straps to prevent the weakened man from dropping it. The route taken by the procession of soldiers and condemned man was along a crowded street, so that his suffering was evident to as many people as possible - crucifixion was used as a deterrent to other citizens who might be tempted to commit the crime for which the condemned man was being punished.

Crucifixion began when the person was stripped naked, suffering further humiliation, and the beam across his shoulders was lowered to the ground. They would threw his body backwards, and a soldier drove a heavy, square, wrought-iron nail through the wrist, deep into the wood. When both wrists had been nailed, the beam was lifted into place at the top of posts already lodged upright in the ground.

Many condemned men were left in this position, with their legs tied to the upright beam, but in some architectural discoveries, it has been found that feet have been nailed to the wood as well.  Nailing the would make it even more difficult for the person to push his body upwards to breathe.  The additional blood loss at the feet would also mean the person may die quicker. 

In Jesus's case, he was hanging by his arms, and his chest muscles would began to to cramp. He would be able to breathe in, but it would have became increasingly difficult to breathe out. Carbon dioxide would have built up in his lungs and in the blood stream.  It also said he was  horribly dehydrated which would have been the case in this condition. The pericardium which is the sac surrounding his heart would have filled with fluid, compressing his heart, and he would have died of heart failure and suffocation.

Jesus died for YOU and I.  He suffered the pain for us, took the hell for us, for ALL of humanity that they could have ever lasting life.  In many accounts of Near Death Experiences, people say they feel an explosion of love, .......love that is so overwhelming.  People who have seen Jesus in heaven say he has the nail holes where they pierced him on the cross.  To reject God, is to live an erternity without God.  Jesus took the penalty for you and for me.  Recieving him is simply asking him into your life, as it can never be achieved by works, it is a free gift from him. 

Here is how simple it is ................  "Jesus,.....Thank you for dying on the cross for me.  I ask you to come into my life and lead my life for where you want me to go.  Thank you for taking the penalty of hell for me, for I know I am a sinner.  I pray that you can open my eyes up to the sin in my life, so that you can change me and mould me for who you want me to become.  Amen.

 A wind was blowing from this hole that seemed to be bottomless and the odor was so strong it was sickening. By looking between his feet he could see a distant orange glow. As he approached this orange glow it became bigger and bigger and he then entered a cavern and he was over a huge area of what looked like lava sending flames hundreds of feet into the air. Earth shattering explosions could also be heard. He knew he was still about 10,000 feet above this burning sea and even at that distance the heat was almost too much to bear and it felt like his skin was actually burning off.

The smell was so nauseating that it made him cough and gasp for air but there was none. His ears than began to be filled with a very eerie sound that sounded like humming. This sound was constant and got louder and louder as he approached the lava. God opened his understanding as to what the sound was. The sound was actually human beings screaming in unbelievable agony. He realized that God was showing him a vision of hell.

At about 200 feet above this lake of lava, fire and brimstone, the pain got almost too much to bear. He then saw some objects bobbing up and down in this burning sea of what looked like lava. There were tens of thousands of these objects. These objects were actually human beings bobbing up and down and back and forth. These people were weeping and wailing in extreme agony. No relief from pain was available to them. Their bodies were burned black in this sea of fire and brimstone.

Suddenly he plunged into the lava and it covered him and filled his eyes, nose throat, lungs etc. His eyes felt like they were being consumed out of their sockets and could barely breathe. He finds it difficult to explain the amount of pain he was experiencing. He also knew hell was eternal and no chance of getting out.

He was shown that selfishness is the gateway to hell. Excruciating pain overtook him fully as he was submerged in this sea of fire and brimstone that looked like lava. As he was sucked down into this sea he was in total darkness with no light at all. He was suffocating and could not take a breath but yet he was not dying. When he returned to the surface he realized that he was till intact and his five senses were very much alive.

 There were other creatures in the sea of fire that looked like huge worms. They would come to the surface and then disappear and then return to the surface. About 20 feet from him he saw them coming to the surface and they were coming towards him. When they reached him they began boring into him and went inside his body and brain and were coming out of his eyes. They were driving him insane. (Where the worm dieth not.) There is no end to these things in hell. They are eternal. There is no place to go for any relief. There is no love there. It is totally void of love. An emptiness beyond comprehension enveloped him.

Although there were many, many others there, there were no communications whatsoever. Your memory is also there still with you and you can remember everything that went on in your life, including each time the Gospel was presented to you and you refused. He then was gripped with an intense thirst. There was no way to quench this thirst. (Rich man and Lazarus.)

If the message of the Gospel is rejected you will be forever tormented in hell like the Bible so clearly says. The voice of God then echoed across the sea of fire and brimstone and lava telling hell to release him and he was returned back to his room.

Then the nurse gave me that expectant look. What would you do? That's when I composed a make believe prayer. I made him repeat the prayer to keep him off my back. Say it! Jesus Christ son of God, Keep me out of Hell. And a very strange thing took place. He was no longer that wild-eyed screaming lunatic. It was then that I too became a Christian."
